Why Mozilla is the user's choice of browser:
- suppression of
advertising windows: new windows only open when they were explicitly requested
- suppression of
content from unwanted servers by right clicking on images: "block images from this
server" (e.g. pure ad servers)
- find text in a page
while
surfing: just type the text on the keyboard
- web search for
selected
text: right click -> "search for ..."
- handling of frames:
right click allows e.g. : "show only this frame"
- no-nonsense plain
viewing of email messages without opening attachments/scripts
- excellent management
of user's email addresses: multiple identities for different purposes
no problem
- more technical
transparency: allows easier problem solving and assessment of security
- optionally
installable extensions for customizing
FF/TB
- simple editor for
creating web pages
- "open source": the software's behaviour is publicly known in all detail (prevents vendor backdoors, snooping etc.)
- Mozilla is under
constant development - with user participation!
